30th Anniversary Gala - “Storied Past, Bright Future”
The 30th Anniversary Gala and awards banquet provided a rare opportunity to hear terrific speeches by special honoree Dr. Howard G. Adams, former executive director of GEM, as well as Father Theodore M. Hesburgh, president emeritus of the University of Notre Dame. Michigan State’s Dr. Percy Pierre gave a moving tribute to Ted Habarth, a founder and past president of GEM who passed away shortly before the conference.
Co-hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Randal Pinkett delivered a fun, fast-paced evening by keeping the spotlight on the roster of fourteen outstanding member, GEM alumni, and GEM fellow award winners.
