Andrea Delgado was born in El Paso Texas, a very traditional town in the border between Mexico and the US. Delgado found her passion for science very late in my academic career, as she was always inclined for the social sciences, and she thinks mainly because back home there were no opportunities to study Physics and if there was, few positions were dedicated for women. Delgado was very lucky to find a professor that inspired her and encouraged her to pursue a career in Physics. Delgado was so eager to start doing science that got her into a REU program the first summer in college. Delgado liked research so much that she tried to keep myself involved in any project she could join. This all lead me to a very rich resume and to discover my interest in particle physics. After finishing her bachelor’s degree it just seemed natural for her to continue learning more. Delgado received her bachelor’s of science in physics from Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Physics also at Texas A&M as a GEM Fellow.
