Daphne Meza did her undergraduate studies in University of New Orleans, where she obtained her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before coming to Stony Brook, she worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory for three summers as an undergraduate researcher with the National Synchotron Light Source (NSLS) II. She was awarded a GEM fellowship with Brookhaven National Laboratory in 2012 and joined the PhD program in Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook that same year. Currently, she is working on designing a miniature microscope for point-of-care pathology at the Molecular Biophotonics Lab. She is originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
