Hector Medina is a 4th year PhD student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of California San Diego, and his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at UMBC. Hector was scholar for the California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP), a program of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) which is sponsored by the National Science Foundation. At UMBC, he has been an LSAMP Bridge to the Doctorate Fellow at UMBC, is currently an NIH Meyerhoff Graduate Fellow, and was inducted into Tau Beta Pi as a graduate student.
Hector’s research is focused around biomedical engineering applications. Hector is a Peer Mentor for the NSF PROMISE AGEP program.
