Hector E. Perez earned MS.E and B.S. degrees from the University of Michigan (2012), and California State University, Northridge (2010), respectively, in Mechanical Engineering. He was a Propulsion Engineer at Boeing in 2012-2013, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Systems Engineering at UC Berkeley. Mr. Perez was part of the team that helped return the Boeing-787 back into service following the Battery events in 2013. Hector received the Ford Foundation Pre-doctoral and GEM Fellowships (Oak Ridge National Laboratory). His research interests include modeling and control of battery systems. Hector Perez has been involved with SHPE at the University/Regional/National level since 2007.
