Jamel Alexander

Jamel Alexander is a native of New Orleans, LA and is a two time GEM Master’s and PhD Fellow in the Mechanical Engineering program at Mississippi State University. He received a BS in Physics from Xavier University of Louisiana, an MS in Applied Physics from the University of New Orleans and a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University. Jamel has been involved with Brookhaven National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an intern project engineer, where he participated in soft-condensed matter physics research as well as transducer miniaturization issue research. Jamel’s personal research interests are micro/nano mechanical systems, accelerated aging studies of composite materials, science/engineering education and mentoring.
