Kenneth Skinner was born in Newark, NJ and graduated from Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He is currently a chemical biology PhD Candidate researching how anesthetics activate ion channels at Harvard University. He has earned a fellowship from NSF, Ford Foundation, and GEM. As a GEM fellow he worked at Oak Ridge National Lab for a summer. He also enjoys mentoring, teaching, and his role as a resident tutor in Dunster House for Harvard undergraduates. As a former cross-country and track runner, Kenneth likes marathon training in his free time.
