Theo Crouch, II MARC Alumnus Theo Crouch, II is in his third year as a graduate student pursuing his doctorate degree at the University of California, Merced. He is a recent awardee of the NSF Graduate Fellowship. As an undergraduate, he pursued and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science while doing research (bench work and data processing) in Dr. Denise Garcia’s genetics research lab. His work included computationally analyzing biological data sets to assist the lab’s efforts to discover differentially expressed immune response genes using Serial Analysis of Gene Expression (SAGE) analysis. He is currently under the advisement of Dr. Fabian Filipp in the Systems Biology and Cancer Metabolism Group at UC Merced. His research aim is the differential mapping of transcriptional coactivation in prostate cancer.
