Victoria Parker is a 3rd year PhD Candidate studying Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry. Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia where she graduated Salutatorian from Heritage High School (C/O ’09) and Magna cum laude from Norfolk State University in Chemistry Pre-Medicine as a DNIMAS Full Ride Scholar. As an undergraduate she helped to synthesize and characterize HIV-1 Protease Inhibitors and gold coated iron oxide nanoparticles. Currently she is a 2015 GEM University Fellow, 2016 ASPET Washington Fellow, and a 2016 Summer intern for SC Johnson’s RD&E organization. Her goal is to become a medical scientist and conduct translational research in the field of oncology. As the President of the UI Chapter of NOBCChE and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she strives to increase diversity in the sciences.
