Ernesto earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Arizona State University. While at ASU, he was selected as a foreign exchange student and studied Monterrey, Mexico. He worked part time while attending ASU including an internship with Motorola’s Human Resource group. Ernesto has worked as a Human Resource professional for over 30 years.
He joined Intel in 1995 and has served in various capacities including Human Resource Manager for Intel’s Latin America Region where he and his family lived in Brazil. Ernesto joined the Global Diversity group in 2005 as manager of Intel’s employee group program and transitioned to manager Intel’s Hispanic Initiative and Native American Initiative programs in 2007. In 2011 Ernesto transitioned to lead Intel’s Global Diversity Education program working with most of Intel’s external diversity partners to develop strategies that will ultimately grow the technical pipeline of underrepresented populations. Ernesto oversees Intel’s Diversity Scholar program which drives placement of diverse scholars at Intel. In 2013 his responsibilities increased to include leading Intel’s industry leading Employee Resource Group program as well as manage operations for the Global Diversity team.
Ernesto is a member of the GEM Consortium’s Executive Committee where he is a Standing Chair of the Marketing Committee. He and his wife, Anita reside in Folsom, CA. Ernesto was a member of the Board of Directors for Sacramento’s Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (2006-2011). He has been married to Anita for 29 years and is the proud father of two wonderful daughters, Andrea (26) and April (23).
