GEM Fellowship Application Applicants Overview If you have started an application, log in to retrieve it. Application deadline: November 15. For early consideration, complete your application and provide your resume and unofficial transcript by October 1. On-Line Application: Step by Step Instructions
Step 1 : Register
Step 2 : Complete Part I of the application Note on GRE Scores: You are not required to submit your official GRE Score Report by the application deadline. However you are required to answer all of the questions as prompted about the GRE in your eGEM application. If you have taken the GRE you can self report your scores and scan and upload your score report. If selected for the fellowship, you will be required to have an official GRE score report on file. If you chose to have your official report sent to GEM, our code is 1305 (listed under the state of Indiana). Remember, GEM applicants are required to apply to at least 3 GEM Member Universities. GEM wants to ensure that you have all necessary requirements to meet all 3 University's application requirements. As a result we strongly recommend that you take the GRE. Step 3 : Complete Part II of the on-line application by November 15th. Part II requires you to submit supplemental material: a. Statement of Purpose - You must submit at least a one page statement of purpose that outlines your academic, research and/or career goals. For tips go to www.statementofpurpose.com. b. Letters of Recommendation - Request three letters of recommendation and ensure that you have entered in your recommender's email addresses to ensure submission by November 15. Please make sure at least one recommendation is from a faculty member. When you hit "submit" on your on-line application your recommenders will receive an automatic email from the GEM application system. Paper recommendation forms are no longer available. At least two of your recommenders must submit their recommendations on-line by midnight Pacific Time on November 15th. Review your application and submit online. Step 4 : Submit your official transcript POSTMARKED by November 15th.

At time of application you will be asked to upload unofficial transcript(s). However, to complete your application, you will be required to submit official transcripts POSTMARKED by November 15th. Request official transcripts be sent to the GEM Office from all universities and colleges attended. This includes a copy of current transcripts reflecting your most recent grades. Grade reports and monitor screen printouts are not acceptable as official transcripts. It is your responsibility to ensure that GEM receives your recommendation letters by November 15th and that your official transcript is postmarked by November 15th. Online Privacy and Security All of the personal information that you supply to us is kept confidential and secure and will not be used in ways to which you have not consented. GEM's on-line application has been built to ensure your personal data is protected.
Academic Requirements
Internship Requirements a. MS Fellows are required to intern for a GEM Employer Member the summer immediately following selection up until the M.S. requirements are completed. b. Ph.D. fellows are required to intern once for a GEM Employer Member the summer immediately following selection. Applicants who are unable to intern are highly unlikely to be selected for the GEM Fellowship. Knowingly providing false information may result in termination of the GEM fellowship. |
