Paul Potier

Paul earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Lamar University and as a GEM Fellow, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.  His Masters research work was related to the calibration of a magnetotelluric data acquisition system designed and built at the University. For 2 summers, he interned with Exxon Production Research Company in the electronic instrumentation group. GEM provided the opportunity to pursue the Masters degree and bridge the work he did during his internships with Exxon and the research work in the laboratory at UT.

After spending four years with IBM working on PC hardware development, Paul rejoined Exxon initially in their Long Range Research group, where he received a patent in downhole tube wave minimization. 

Paul later joined Motorola Inc. as a mobile data systems engineer and ultimately became a program manager for the development of custom semiconductor devices including microprocessors, radio frequency power amplifiers and receivers as well as power management devices, for one of their cellular divisions.

Paul has recently returned to the academic environment and is now pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Prairie View A&M University and is beginning research study in the area of secure network management of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks.
