Inaugural GRAD Lab Huge Success!

glchicago_04.jpgglchicago_01.jpgglchicago_02.jpg

GEM launched its newest programmatic effort with 50 undergraduates attending Getting Ready for Advanced Degrees (GRAD) Lab. The GRAD Lab workshops encouraged underrepresented engineering and science students to pursue advanced degrees.  Registrants learned why they should attend graduate school, received detailed information on GEM's graduate fellowship programs, and drew on the real-life experiences of current GEM Fellows and alumni.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for enabling me to attend the GEM conference last week.  It truly was a motivational, inspirational experience.  I enjoyed the GRAD lab panelists and had the opportunity to have many questions answered.  I've since decided to apply for grad school and the GEM fellowship this fall.  Hope to make you all proud!

Thanks again,
  ~Christina – 2006 GRAD Lab participant
