Ursula Burns

Ursula M. Burns, a 1980 GEM Fellow, was named president of Xerox Corporation in April 2007. She is also a member of the Xerox Board of Directors. Burns is responsible for the company's global research, development, engineering, marketing and manufacturing of Xerox technology, supplies and related services.

Dr Isaac Colbert Retires

Dr. Isaac ColbertConcluding three decades of achievement in Institute administration, Dr. Isaac Colbert is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2007 as Dean of Graduate Students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Since being appointed dean in 1999, Colbert has led efforts to develop MIT's graduate community through such innovative programs as the Graduate Student Life Grants.

Colbert currently serves on the GEM Executive Committee as the VP of Strategy & Policy, Universities.  The National GEM Consortium would like to thank Dr. Colbert for the significant impact he has made towards increasing the number of underrepresented students who receive a Masters or Doctorate in engineering and science.
