Ruben Acevedo

Current GEM Fellow

Ruben received his B.S degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2016 and is currently pursuing his M.S/PhD in mechanical engineering at the University of Maryland College Park (UMD). Ruben’s research focuses on designing and manufacturing 3D nanoprinted cell-sized micro drug capsules and artery stents for time varying drug release via bloodstream. Also, Ruben works with SeeTrue Technology to manufacture microneedles using micro 3D printing technologies to improve needle fabrication consistency and anticlogging functionality.
